Here Is a piece Inspired by a song of the Band Hello Seahorse! the song is called "El Oso Polar" meaning "the polar bear" In english. The song talks about a polar bear who starts to cry after these little kids aren't playing or getting near him.

Title Design Pitch

So over the summer I had the chance to do some designs for an animated title opening on a new primetime television show and network. Unfortunately the network decided not to go with an animated title, and did a more boring photo collage version. I wasn't allowed to put the name of the show or the cast, but It should be pretty obvious what show it is. Its currently airing. The time frame they gave me was really tight, other wise I would of noodled with them some more. But It was one of the funnest projects I got to work on so far.

Microsoft Christmas BG's

So for the past few months I have been working as a background Designer and Painter, at Six Point Harness Studios In Hollywood!! Working here has given me the opportunity to work on alot of different and amazing projects. These are a few backgrounds I did for a Microsoft project. These are up In Display at any Microsoft Store near you for the Holidays. I did about 10 of these, all panoramic BG's that connect with each other, and create a very long continuous pan of holiday animations. I believe they circle a good portion of the stores. Also my friend Skudder helped out with some of the Lighting effects and some last minute gradients and touch ups. He was also one of the Directors alongside with my other friend Zack.

Here are some more color keys/studies! Color keys are so much fun because they are fast, and therapeutic. They are so important to everything crucial: lighting, composition, value, and of course color/mood. The rest is just icing. The first image is also a composition study of a Little Princess by Alfonso Cuaron. It had a very simple composition and played around with it further.

Here are somed of the rendered concept paintings from the study below. I have left the top one just a BG painting, and will add the character later. I Feel like I need to do some Character Development and exploration with some character designs before i move forward. I had a very strong vision in my head as to what the environments, and the style would look like. So I went ahead and painted away the environments and realized my charcters havent been planned out all the way. More paintings coming real soon. Ive been painting several paintings at once to stay fresh with an open eye.

Me and my friends are illustrating the three little pigs, here are a few that are pretty much completely done, I might add a few things here and there, but pretty much done.

Here is where the big bad wolf would live, I Imagined him eating the people that lived there before, and the house decaying in time.
here is where the three little pigs grew up, there child hood home, Where the story begins, But since the house is already brick, I might just make it the home of the pig that owns the brick house.

Been really busy lately doing projects for portfolio and graduation. Heres a little illustration I did for a project Im doing. Im re doing Roald Dahl's Matilda, Here I was just playing with the costume design that all the little kids have to wear to school. But this little guy is part of the story, so youll be seeing him again soon. Ill be sure to post more.

So decided to take a step back and go in and redesign this project. Ive been playing with the design of the robot for a few weeks, I came up with this final design and silhouette for the Robot. The Robot I had before didn't have much personality, It was basically a chair with legs. I wanted to do a Robot with more personality, and a robot that can relate and compliment the little girl. Ive also been playing with the designs of the little girl, and been trying to match her up nicely with the robot. My first Initial drawings of her were a lot more round and organic. And I started playing with angles, and making her a lot more stylized. The last Big drawing of the girl is the one I'm happiest with so far, it is a mixture of all of the designs. The story of this project is still a bit
vague, but its coming together. But I do know that the story will take place in the rougher areas around LA. preferably Boyle Heights.... I want it to be around the Mexican Los Angeles we all know, or at least the one that I know, but don't see much on t.v

Dang, its been a while since I posted on Here. Been busy with school working on a little short I did with my friends for a 2D Studio Class. I was Storyboard Supervisor, and was in charge of the storyboards, and the story from a visual stand point. I was also in the Background/layout Department. My Friend Bobby walker was In charge of this Department, and did most of the backgrounds himself http://bobbywalkerdesign.blogspot.com/ Bobby made alot of the objects in the layouts himself, and turned them to graphic symbols, So I cant take full credit for everything. Us background guys had alot of stuff to work with from the begining since we had some of the symbols already made. Here are some of the Backgrounds I worked on...

Most of my shots were near this main gate since I was in charge of designing it. we tried to work in the style similar to Foster's home for Imaginary friends, but with our own twist.

Here is a drawing from my sketchbook that I turned in to a flyer for my band. This Drawing reminds me of my childhood. I use to play in a red car just like that one.

Little Girl and Robot Project

Well heres what Ive been up too. As a part of my reel I will be animating a short 2D animation, of a little girl driving, and riding the robot. The Challenge is that the Robot will be all done in 3d. The robot will be rendered in a 2d look, alot like the robot from the Iron Giant. And the little girl will be hand animated. The other challenge is that I am going to have the camera rotating around the Robot and the girl, so the little girls perspective will be changing as the camera rotates.

And here are some renders of the robot so far, It is not complete, but almost, I just need to detail his knees, ankles, and foot....

Here, is the model of the girl..... I will use this model as a guide to animate over. And also to keep my form and perspective right

I started to board out this story that I was going to make in to a short for graduation. But I stopped because I realized I wasnt going to have enough time to finish for graduation. but who knows maybe one day I'll make it happen when I have the time. The story is simple, A Butcher slaughters one of two pet pigs owned By a little fat boy. And the Boy tries and save the only remaining pig from being slaughtered.

First of all I want to apologize for the lack of posts in here. this quarter was really busy, and it was really hard to find time to draw or paint something.I was stuck doing mainly 3d stuff in maya this quarter: Rigging, Material and Lighting, and Some for Compositing. I have now have a week off from school and Im gonna try and do alot more painting and drawing. Heres a Painting I started on. Its still in the rough stages, so feel free to qritique me and let me know what you think?
This here is my recreation in 3D of a still from the movie Trainspotting. I took it from a scene when Renton dives in inside of the toilet.It was all done in maya using rendering in mental ray.

Finally, a new post. This morning I felt Inspired. Trying to figure out a look for the house for the short im working on in my animation class. In reality this is really my dream home. Its painted in gouache , and then taken in to photoshop. The background sky is all photoshop.
